Prohibitory Order relaxed in the valley, Vehicles are allowed to ply on odd-even system

Kathmandu: The prohibitory order has been extended for one more week. Chief District Officers of Kathmandu Valley have decided to allow private vehicles to operate in the odd-even system during the extended the period.

From now on, vehicles with odd-even registration number plates will be able to drive on odd and even day respectively. The same rule will applied to cabs. The local administration had been issuing prohibitory order since April 29 for the prevention and control of Covid 19.

The prohibitory order has been relaxed since last year as infection rates and mortality have been declining. This year, only the vehicles in the most urgent areas have been allowed to move, so from tomorrow, everyone will be able to move in the odd-even system.

It has been decided to allow vehicles as well as shops to open according to the days.The shops selling gold, silver, utensils, electrical and household items will be operational on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday with effect from tomorrow. Similarly, shops selling automobiles and their parts will also be opened.

It has been decided to open shopping malls, sports goods shops, clothes and shoe shops on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Similarly, fancy, cosmetic, gift and tailoring will be opened.

It has been decided to allow the shop to open from 11 am to 4 am. Food, fruit and vegetable shops will be allowed open till 11 am every day.
