Kathmandu. Ilam: At least 18 people have been killed in landslides in different places of Ilam.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Koshi Province Police Office, Deepak Pokharel, five people have died in Suryodaya municipality alone.
Similarly, three people of Mangsebung Rural Municipality-1, Patigaun of Mangsebung Rural Municipality-1, one of Deumai Municipality-5, Dhare, two of Dhusune of the same ward, one of Ratmate of Fakphokthum Rural Municipality-3 and six of Ghosegaun of Ilam Municipality-5 were killed in landslides.
A Nepal Army helicopter has reached Mangsebung-1 for the rescue of the injured. The injured including a pregnant woman have been rescued.
The injured have been taken to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.
