Kathmandu. Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has published a list of companies eligible for margin trading.
NEPSE has published the list of transaction eligible companies that have fulfilled the criteria as per Section 8 (1) of Chapter 3 of the Margin Transaction Facility Procedure, 2082. There are 123 companies listed in NEPSE.
All 19 commercial banks listed in NEPSE have been found eligible for margin transactions. All 11 development banks including eight national level development banks are also eligible for margin transactions.
Likewise, there are 11 finance companies, 17 microfinance financial institutions, 12 life insurance companies, 11 non-life insurance companies, 28 hydropower companies, six investment companies, three hotel companies, two manufacturing companies, two other group companies and one business group company.
Stock brokers are preparing to provide margin trading facility to investors from April 1. Now, investors will be able to enjoy this facility only on the shares of the companies listed in this list. Banks and financial institutions can also provide share loans to the investors by keeping the shares of the companies under this list as collateral.
