National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has been able to pay nearly one thousand percent dividend since its inception. This is considered to be a rare and exemplary achievement in the life insurance sector of Nepal.
The company has been distributing dividends to shareholders since FY 46/47. The company had distributed 126.32 percent dividend in its history in the fiscal year 2016/19. During the year, the company distributed 120 percent bonus shares and 6.32 percent dividend. Since the inception of the dividend, the company has distributed 566% bonus shares and 421.70% cash dividend.
The company is issuing a total dividend of 13.16 per cent including 4 per cent bonus share and 9.16 per cent cash dividend for the fiscal year 2018/82 through its AGM to be held on January 15.

The company started distributing dividends from FY 46/47 and has been focusing on cash dividends for FY 59/60. During this period, the company distributed 50% bonus shares in FY 50/51. For the rest of the year, the company distributed only cash dividends. After FY62/63, the company seems to have included bonus shares in every dividend.

In the next fiscal year, the company distributed 105.26% dividend with 100% bonus shares and 5.26% cash dividend.
