Nepal International Art Exhibition-2025 concludes in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The three-day Nepal International Art Exhibition-2025 has concluded in Kathmandu on Saturday. Hundreds of art lovers, artists, critics and cultural artists attended the event.

The exhibition was inaugurated at Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Naxal, Kathmandu on December 9. Inaugurating the exhibition, Chief Guest and Chancellor of NAFA Naradmani Hartamchali said that the art exhibition is an important medium to strengthen cultural understanding, creativity and inter-country relations at the people’s level.

On the occasion, Mithila artist Ranju Yadav, who is also the coordinator of the exhibition, delivered the welcome speech and said that art is a universal language that rises beyond the boundaries of geography, ideology and identity.

More than four dozen artworks of artists from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Mauritius among other countries have been included in the exhibition. She also expressed her gratitude to Art Hub, Dhaka (Bangladesh) and co-organizer Mithila Art Foundation, Kathmandu.

Curator of the exhibition and Director of Art Hub Dhaka, Timur Hannan (Bangladesh) also expressed his views and highlighted the importance of cross-border artistic collaboration. Recalling the cultural exchanges between Nepal and Bangladesh in the past, he expressed the belief that such an international arts forum would deepen the creative dialogue and strengthen regional friendship.

On behalf of Bangladeshi artists, Fahmida Enam Kakoli expressed her best wishes for the success of the exhibition.

Senior Mithila artist Bibha Lal expressed gratitude to the organizers, participating artists, helpers and viewers. The opening ceremony was conducted and coordinated by participating artist Subhadri Subha.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities from the field of art, literature and culture. Senior litterateur couple Dhirendra Premarshi and Rupa Jha, Chairman of Maithili Development Trust Janakpurdham Jeevanath Chaudhary, Member Secretary of NAFA Devendra Kumar Kafle ‘Thumkeli’, NAFA Council members Dineshwor Mahato, Aruna Hingmang, Pradip Adhikari ‘Susant’, Saur Ganga Darshandhari and senior painter and journalist Keshav Raj Khanal were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, senior litterateur Dhirendra Premarshi and NAFA council member Aruna Aruna Hingmang expressed their views and praised the organizers for creating an international level artistic platform.

Stating that they have been successful in bringing artists from different countries under one roof, they said that such exhibitions would help promote cultural diplomacy and make Nepali art known in the international arena.

The artists who participated in the exhibition were honored as a special attraction of the opening ceremony. Chief guest Naradmani Hartamchali and senior litterateur Dhirendra Premarshi jointly presented certificates, crests and exhibition catalogues to the artists in recognition of their creative contributions.

Another major attraction of the program was the art workshop held on December 26, which was coordinated by exhibition coordinator and Mithila artist Ranju Yadav. Nine artists from Nepal and six from Bangladesh participated in the event.

The workshop provided a vibrant platform for creative interaction, shared learning and artistic experimentation. The artists worked on a variety of techniques and themes to further strengthen professional relationships and cultural understanding.

Hundreds of art lovers had come to visit the exhibition that lasted for three days. The artworks reflecting nature, culture, identity, social consciousness, rights and contemporary realities caught the attention of the audience. Art lovers appreciated the international format of the exhibition and its role in promoting cultural exchange through visual arts.

Nepal International Art Exhibition-2025 Poush 2025 (2025) has added another important milestone in Nepal’s international art sector and further strengthened artistic cooperation with neighbors and friendly countries.
