An emergency virtual meeting held on Thursday took the decision after considering the application for emergency financial assistance sought by Nepal. <\/p>\n<p>This is the most extraordinary meeting in the history of the Fund. Nepal has suffered an estimated direct economic loss and damage of $2.69 billion due to the floods on August 26. In addition, it had submitted an estimate of at least $4.71 billion for reconstruction and reconstruction. <span class=\"\" data-path-to-node=\"2,2\"> In view of this emergency situation, the Board of the Fund has unanimously decided to allocate $21.6 million for Nepal <\/span><span data-path-to-node=\"2,4\">}. <\/span> <\/p>\n<p>After Nepal submitted a formal application for expeditious assistance, the board members of the Fund representing developing countries have called this special meeting to discuss the rapid response to this disaster situation and the allocation of temporary resources.
