KATHMANDU: Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus, Biratnagar and Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Provincial Office, Biratnagar, have signed an agreement to conduct internship programs in order to provide an opportunity to the students to practice the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. <\/p>\n
As per the agreement, the students will get an opportunity for internship at Nepal Insurance Authority’s Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar. <\/p>\n
Rajendra Maharjan, chief of Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province, said that the students are expected to gain first-hand experience on the institutional structure, working system, policy, service delivery and regulation of the insurance sector. He expressed the belief that the students would understand the status of insurance and research in the insurance sector and employment in the insurance sector in the coming days. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Maharjan said that the agreement was taken as an important step to strengthen the cooperation between the education and business sectors and it was expected to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and also contribute to the development of skilled manpower required for the insurance sector. He said that the authority will also carry out insurance education and awareness among the students in the college as a subject expert. It was informed on the occasion that the authority will also conduct insurance awareness to the students from time to time as per the need. <\/p>\n
Chief of Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus, Dr. Ramavatar Sharan said that such collaborations are necessary to enhance the practical skills along with the educational development of the students. <\/p>\n
Professor Achyut Raj Kattel said that the program would be more effective if the program would help the students of higher education to get work experience during their studies. <\/p>\n
Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) has said that for the development of the insurance sector, skilled manpower should be produced, as well as increasing insurance awareness and regulating the insurance sector and spreading knowledge and awareness among the younger generation. The authority believes that the collaboration with educational institutions will help students to understand the opportunities and challenges of the insurance sector closely. <\/p>\n
The internship program for college students is expected to help bridge the gap between studies and employment.
