Kathmandu. Jeevan Bikas Microfinance has celebrated Volunteer Day by doing social work at 160 places. On the occasion of the establishment day of Jeevan Vikas Samaj, the parent organization of microfinance, ‘Life Development Volunteer Day’ was celebrated on September 29 with the main slogan ‘Shramdaan in the development of the country’. <\/p>\n
Jeevan Bikash has 160 branch offices in 31 districts of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces. Sudip Kumar Mandal, spokesperson of Microfinance, said that all the branch offices have organized various programs in their jurisdiction. <\/p>\n
On the occasion of Volunteer Day, the microfinance company has reconstructed the houses of 16 extremely poor families through Shramdaan. The houses of the most impoverished citizens who could not build a house were reconstructed on the initiative of the branch offices. <\/p>\n
36 branches of Jeevan Vikas have organized school cleaning and sports programs. 26 branches have organized temple cleaning, dustbin distribution and tree plantation. 23 branches have organized school cleaning and tree plantation programs. 12 branches have organized tree plantation programs. <\/p>\n
It has organized temple cleaning and dustbin distribution programs at 19 places. 5 branches have organized market cleaning and dustbin distribution programs. Four branches have helped 4 extremely poor families within the jurisdiction of the branch. <\/p>\n
Chautari has been constructed at 2 places. 5 branches have done market cleaning and tree plantation. The branch offices have done cleaning and tree plantation of public buildings, playground cleaning and tree plantation program, food assistance to old age homes, tree plantation in eco village and cleaning of police office at one place. <\/p>\n
The social programs organized by Jeevan Bikas were attended by people’s representatives, Three Zero Club, Nawabhani Group, employees of microfinance, local civil society leaders and members of microfinance. <\/p>\n
Jeevan Bikas had declared Volunteer Day by donating Shramdaan through the member conference held in 2072 BS.
