Kathmandu. An emergency warning has been issued for severe typhoon in and around Japan’s capital Tokyo. Officials have urged local people to remain vigilant against the possibility of landslides and floods. <\/p>\n
Typhoon Dujuan is moving toward Japan’s east coast. This is the 25th typhoon to hit Japan this year. Nearly 300 flights have been canceled due to the typhoon’s impact. In addition, many train services have also been temporarily suspended. <\/p>\n
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the impact of the typhoon could bring record rainfall to many areas until Tuesday. The agency has advised residents living in coastal areas to be especially vigilant about the risk of landslides. The agency has predicted up to 350 mm of rain in the Tokai area. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, up to 300 mm of rain could fall on the islands of Kanto and Izu, and up to 200 mm of rain could fall in the Tohoku region. It is worth noting that a typhoon warning has been issued at a time when the Asian Games are being held in Japan. <\/p>\n
Kose Inoue, the head of Japan’s Asian Games team, said officials have held meetings with the Japan Olympic Committee.
