Kathmandu. Today, Rishi Panchami is celebrated by Nepali women by worshiping the seven sages including Arundhati. Every year, on the day of Bhadra Shukla Panchami, women wake up early in the morning, perform daily rituals, go to the nearby river, stream, lake, lake and pond, brush their teeth with 365 sticks, take a bath with cow dung, mud and ashes. <\/p>\n
Although there is a scriptural statement that both men and women should fast and worship Haritalika Teej, Rishi Panchami should be done only for women. <\/p>\n
It is mentioned in various religious scriptures that if a woman has any fault in menstruation including Chhai Chhu, then worshiping the Saptarishi along with Arundhati on the day of Rishi Panchami will be relieved from it. <\/p>\n
It is believed that a woman is purified by taking a bath on the first day of menstruation, on the second day by taking a bath in Brahmaghatini, on the third day by washerwoman, and on the fourth day. That is why there is a scriptural saying that on this day, bathing with cow dung, mud and ashes and consuming Panchagavya will remove the defect of untouchability. <\/p>\n
After bathing in this way, Atri, Gautam, Bharadwaja, Jamadagni, Vasishtha, Kashyap and Vishwamitra are worshiped along with Arundhati. Which is called Rishi Panchami.
