Kathmandu. The people’s representatives of the concerned areas have praised the steps taken by the incumbent government for search, rescue, treatment and relief management immediately after the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. <\/p>\n
Chiefs of 14 local governments of flood-affected Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun districts, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province and members of the House of Representatives participated in the meeting held with Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today. During the discussions, the people’s representatives said that the central government has been continuously deputing ministers and employees in the affected areas by coordinating with the local levels immediately after the floods, and has been regularly following up with search, rescue and relief. <\/p>\n
They also said that it was positive that Prime Minister Shah called them to his office to understand the real situation in the affected areas. The people’s representatives expressed their commitment that they were ready to continuously cooperate, coordinate and facilitate with the federal government for the rehabilitation of the people of the affected areas in the future. Stressing that work should be done without any discrimination in disaster management, they said that doubts have arisen as various non-governmental organizations have started assuring that they will build houses and provide shelter to children in the affected areas and urged the government to monitor it. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the people’s representatives demanded the government to immediately expand the road network in the flood-affected areas, search for the missing persons, prevent possible epidemics and make arrangements for temporary settlement of the people in the holding centers. They said that they are committed to develop greenery in the flood-affected coastal areas and relocate the settlements to safer places nearby without any delay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
