Kathmandu. The government is conducting a survey to arrange temporary accommodation for the people affected by the floods in the Bhotekoshi River and are currently living in holding centers in different districts. <\/p>\n
A holding center was set up for them in case of emergency. Now, within a few weeks, a survey has been started to arrange separate temporary accommodation for each family. <\/p>\n
The Department of Urban Development and Building Construction under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development has been carrying out a survey in the affected districts using the ‘Cobo Toolbox’ through the need assessment form. <\/p>\n
It will provide details of affected individuals and families, as well as the status of damage (wholly or partially), the number of deceased or missing family members, their preference for temporary shelter or rented with government assistance, availability of land, the best option to relocate, arrangements for drinking water, sanitation and other additional needs. <\/p>\n
For now, the survey will help the government implement its plan by identifying the needs of each household in the holding center. <\/p>\n
Work is being done to complete the survey within a week. After this, the affected families living outside the holding center will also be surveyed using this form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
