The number of accounts in both deposit and loan accounts in Nepal&#8217;s banks and financial institutions has increased significantly. <\/p>\n<p>According to the latest data, the total number of deposit accounts has increased from 5,94,29,367 to 6,34,25,296 as of mid-July 2083. The number of loan accounts has also increased from 19,66,558 to a total of 2,031,364 during the same period. <\/p>\n<p>Regionally, the deposit accounts of commercial banks increased from Rs 5,09,86,171 to Rs 5,44,49,539, while the loan accounts increased from Rs 1,644,545 to Rs 17,934. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the deposit accounts of development banks increased from Rs 74,75,347 to Rs 7,883,672, while the loan accounts declined to Rs 2,61,447 from Rs 2,71,027. <\/p>\n<p>On the financial side, the number of deposit accounts increased from Rs 967,849 to Rs 1,092,085 and loan accounts from Rs 50,986 to Rs 68,983. <\/p>\n<p><p data-path-to-node=\"2\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-313133 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/insurancekhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/nrb-account-number.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"966\" height=\"200\" \/> <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p data-path-to-node=\"2\"> <em> <strong>Source: Nepal Rastra Bank <\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
