The flash floods in Rasuwa district have also caused a big loss to electricity and other physical infrastructures. <\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, through a press release today, shared this information in this regard. As per the preliminary details received so far, the basic infrastructure including power generation, transmission and distribution structures has been damaged. The Ministry is also carrying out initiatives and coordinated works for rescue, relief, restoration of power supply and necessary coordination in the affected areas. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>What is the work done by the ministry? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<p>Rescue and rehabilitation works are underway in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs to collect details of employees, workers and locals who have not been contacted due to floods.TAG_OPEN_li_18 The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has sent seven vehicles to the damaged areas for rescue work while 14 vehicles are kept on alert. Joint Secretary (Administration Division) of the Ministry has been deputed to the flood-affected areas for facilitation and coordination in rescue works. <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<p>Five major hydropower projects in operation (total 236 MW) and 3 under construction (total 342.42 MW) major hydropower projects have been affected in Rasuwa district.TAG_OPEN_li_17 The affected projects include Upper Trishuli-1 (216 MW), Rasuwagadhi (111 MW), Rasuwa Bhotekoshi (120 MW), Sanjen Khola (78 MW), Upper Mailung A (6.42 MW), Mailung Khola (5 MW), Langtang Khola (20 MW) and Chilime (22 MW). <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<p>In Nuwakot district, 4 projects (total 123 MW) and 2 under construction (total 52.6 MW) have been affected.TAG_OPEN_li_16 They include 24 MW Trishuli Hydropower Project, 14.1 MW Devighat Hydropower Project, 60 MW Upper Trishuli-3 A, Upper Trishuli 3 &#8216;B&#8217; (37 MW), Middle Trishuli Ganga (15.6 MW) and 25 MW Solar. <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<p>A technical team has been mobilized by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to resume the power supply without interrupting the power supply.TAG_OPEN_li_15 <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Hydrology and Water Resources Research Center has been sending more than two lakh SMS alerts with prior information to prevent further damage in the downstream areas.TAG_OPEN_li_14 The gauge station and other structures connected to the center have also been damaged, making it difficult to provide additional safety information. <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the Ministry, the concerned agencies are collecting details of the damage and making technical assessment of the damaged projects. &#8220;The exact condition of the loss and necessary information related to rehabilitation would be made public gradually on the basis of additional details to be received. \u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
