On the eve of festivals, the price of Nepal&#8217;s kitchen has increased. Onion prices have skyrocketed, especially after sugar. <\/p>\n<p>India is dependent on sugar and onion in the Nepali market. Around 90 per cent of the demand of the Nepali market is met by the import of sugar and onion from India. <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the price of onion has increased in India after sugar. Onion prices in India have almost doubled compared to the previous month. <\/p>\n<p>At present, the retail price of onion in India is Rs 65 per kg. It was Rs 35 per kg in the previous month. In this way, the retail price of onion in Nepal has crossed Rs 100 per kg. <\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the stock limit has been fixed after the price of sugar has started increasing in India. Although India has not tightened the export of sugar, the price hike has had a direct impact on Nepal. <\/p>\n<p>Currently, the retail price of sugar in Nepal is Rs 120 per kilogramme.
