Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has stressed the need to protect and promote the historical property at the National Archives. Inspecting the National Archives at the Ram Shah Path today, he said it was imperative to preserve the historical, political, religious history and cultural documents present in the museum. <\/p>\n
“The historical documents in the National Archives are invaluable assets of Nepal and it is imperative to preserve them for the foreseeable future,” she said. In course of his observation, he took brief information on the archives of economic and political activities of the historical regime. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Finance Minister Wagle also enquired with the employees regarding the effective budget and programs being received by the Archives. <\/p>\n
Finance Minister Dr. Director General of the Department of Archaeology, Saubhagya Pradhananga, said that it has become challenging to preserve historical, religious, cultural and political documents due to lack of resources. <\/p>\n
According to him, it has become difficult to protect the archives in the absence of secure and well-equipped physical infrastructure. <\/p>\n
He said that the archives has not been able to adequately explain its importance to scholars, students and even the government due to lack of resources. <\/p>\n
Director-General Pradhananga also drew the attention of the Finance Minister to invest in the budget for the construction of buildings with land at new places, use of new technology to protect records and capacity building of employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
