Kathmandu. A US court has permanently dismissed criminal charges against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani related to alleged fraud and bribery. This ends two years of criminal proceedings. <\/p>\n
The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York approved the Justice Department’s motion to dismiss the case. Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani and Vineet Jain, former CEO of Adani Green Energy, have been dismissed by the Supreme Court. The charges included conspiracy to commit securities fraud, securities fraud and wire fraud. <\/p>\n
The court’s decision was made under the ‘dismissal with prejudice’ clause. This means that these criminal charges cannot be refiled and the criminal proceedings are permanently dismissed. <\/p>\n
Gautam Adani has welcomed this decision. “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who never lost faith in us, the system and India’s ability to deliver justice,” he said in the post.
