The powerful storm has severely affected life in many areas, including the capital Shanghai. According to the Meteorological Department, the typhoon dolphin first made its first appearance in Yuhuan, Zhejiang province, yesterday evening. Its maximum speed reached 150 kilometers per hour. About an hour later, the typhoon made landfall a second time in the city of Benzhou. <\/p>\n
About 1,400 flights were cancelled in Shanghai alone. This caused great inconvenience to many passengers. <\/p>\n
Chinese authorities initially issued the highest level of red alert for Typhoon Dolphin. However, the alert was eased on Monday morning as its intensity subsided. <\/p>\n
According to the Meteorological Department, the storm is now moving towards the interior of China. Authorities have issued a warning of torrential rain, flooding and landslides until Wednesday. <\/p>\n
