Wildfires have doubled in size as they spread through remote parts of western Canada. As a result, thousands of people have been forced to move to safer places. <\/p>\n<p>According to the BC Wildfire Service, the Bald Range Fire has spread to 95 square kilometres in British Columbia&#8217;s Summerland and Okanagan-Similkameen districts. &#8220;I&#8217;ve never seen a fire so quickly and so widely spread in a wildfire hazard area,&#8221; said Eric Thompson, emergency services officer for the Okanagan-Similkamin Regional District. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>The fire has not been brought under control in the area as of Saturday morning. People in the Summerland district, which has a population of about 12,000, were ordered to evacuate their homes. Officials reported Saturday morning that power was also out across the region. <\/p>\n<p>The surrounding Okanagan, Peachland and Okanagan-Similkameen districts have also issued evacuation orders for some areas.
