The Special Court has ordered the release of businessman Deepak Bhatta on bail in connection with a money laundering case. <\/p>\n<p>A division bench of Justices Narayan Prasad Poudel, Hemanta Rawal and Umesh Koirala issued the order to release the accused on bail. The details of the court order are yet to be ascertained as the amount demanded is not known. <\/p>\n<p>The Government of Nepal had filed a criminal case (082-CR-0154) against businessmen Dipak Bhatta, Sulav Agrawal, Sahil Agrawal and 39 others on the charge of misappropriating funds of financial institutions including Himalayan Reinsurance Limited and acquiring assets that were not disclosed. <\/p>\n<p>A joint bench of Sudarshan Dev Bhatta, Umesh Koirala and Bidur Koirala had issued the order to send Bhatta and other accused to judicial custody on June 13. <\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_308905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-308905\" style=\"width: 1517px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-308905 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/insurancekhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Bhatta1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1517\" height=\"452\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-308905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Orders issued by the Special Court on different dates in the case related to money laundering against 39 people including businessman Dipak Bhatt{<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>}<\/p>\n<p>On June 11, the Office of the Special Public Prosecutor had filed a claim of Rs 26.63 billion against Bhatta and others in a money laundering case. Similarly, a claim has been filed against businessman Sulav Agrawal for a sum of twenty five billion sixty-nine crores, twenty lakh six thousand one hundred and twenty-four rupees. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Kathmandu District Court had issued an order to release Bhatta and Sulav Agrawal on bail on the charge of insurance and banking offense. Now, they will be able to defend cases against themselves in cases related to money laundering, insurance offences and banking offences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
