Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has forwarded the process to appoint the vacant post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). <\/p>\n
The Ministry of Finance has formed a 3-member selection committee under the coordination of Joint Secretary Mahesh Acharya to appoint the CEO of NEPSE. Now, the committee will open the application for the appointment of CEO by issuing an advertisement on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Acharya is currently the head of the Financial Sector Management Division at the Ministry of Finance. Former chairman of the Board of Accountants Prakash Jung Thapa is a member of the committee. <\/p>\n
Chudamani Chapagain had resigned from the post of CEO of NEPSE on July 7. The then government had appointed him as the CEO of NEPSE on April 2, 2081. However, he was heavily criticized for not performing as expected. Even NEPSE employees were not satisfied with his work. <\/p>\n
Now, the Acharya-led selection committee will issue the shortlist based on the evaluation of qualifications, experience and action plan after inviting applications. After this, the committee will call the shortlisted people for interviews and presentations. <\/p>\n
After the interview and presentation, the committee will submit the names of 3 people to the ministry. After this, the Ministry will recommend these names in the Council of Ministers.
