Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has said the government was carrying out activities to systematize the capital market. <\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shah said this during a discussion with stakeholders and individuals of the capital market and securities business at Singha Durbar on Monday. He pledged to resolve the problems seen in the capital market. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Priya Raj Regmi, president of the capital market committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and broker operator, who also participated in the discussions, said that the Prime Minister was committed to resolving the problems seen in the capital market. “We have expressed our commitment to call the stakeholders and hold discussions to implement the genuine demands of the securities entrepreneurs and investors,” Regmi said. \u2019<\/p>\n
During the discussions, the participants demanded the Prime Minister to make the market balanced, remove ambiguities on the rate of capital gains tax, make arrangements to collect tax only after adjusting the losses and to make necessary rules for operating margin lending to boost the morale of investors. <\/p>\n
Likewise, the participants suggested to review the 10-unit policy in the IPO, make timely amendment to the provision of bringing IPOs through book building method, create an environment to bring Non-Resident Nepal into the capital market in an easy manner and restructure the regulatory bodies SEBON, NEPSE and CDSC to make them technologically savvy and create environment for bringing in skilled human resources. <\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by officials of SEBON, NEPSE and Stock Brokers Association of Nepal, among others. <\/p>\n
