Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Department of National Identity Card and Civil Registration has requested the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to facilitate the issue of making the national identity card mandatory in shares and other financial services in the name of children. <\/p>\n
Complaints were received at the department that the general public was facing problems when banks and financial institutions have demanded this number in share trading and other financial services even though all children have not been able to get the national identity number. For this reason, the department has urged the banks through the Rastra Bank not to tighten it and make it easier. <\/p>\n
Although the sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the National Identity Card and Registration Act, 2076 and Rule 11 of the Regulations, 2077 have a provision that a Nepali citizen who has not completed the age of acquiring citizenship can obtain a ‘minor national identity card’, this provision has not been fully implemented at present.TAG_OPEN_p_9 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
According to the decision of the Department on March 10, 2080, the Department has started issuing birth certificates with national identity number at the time of birth registration of children below 16 years of age.TAG_OPEN_p_8 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
According to the decision of the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) and the notice of the Nepal Gazette, the national identity card has been made mandatory in banking and financial services, telephone, SIM card, social security fund and services related to the sale and purchase of real estate from January 1, 2081.TAG_OPEN_p_7 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
