The price of gold reached its highest level in late January. But since then, its price has fallen. <\/p>\n<p>In June, the price of gold fell for four consecutive weeks. In May, central banks around the world bought a total of 41 tonnes. That&#8217;s the biggest monthly purchase since November 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Poland has bought a significant amount of gold for the second month in a row. Its central bank bought 18 tonnes in May. With this, its total purchase has reached 64 tonnes this year. Poland now has 614 tonnes in reserves, nearing its target of 700 tonnes. <\/p>\n<p>In April, central banks of various countries bought 17 tonnes of gold. After the fall in the price of gold, the central bank has started buying gold once again. In May, China bought 10 tonnes of gold, the second largest in the world after Poland. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have also continued to buy gold. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Who bought the most gold?TAG_OPEN_strong_19 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan&#8217;s central bank bought 9 tonnes of gold in May. Kazakhstan bought 7 tons. <\/p>\n<p>Singapore also bought gold in May. Its central bank bought 4 tons of gold. This is the first monthly purchase since September 2025. Other countries that sold gold this month were Turkey (3 tonnes) and Russia (6 tonnes). So far this year, Turkey has sold 81 tons of gold, while Russia has sold 34 tons. <\/p>\n<p>After Poland, Uzbekistan has bought the most gold this year. The Central Asian country&#8217;s central bank has purchased 33 tons. China bought 25 tonnes and Kazakhstan 20 tonnes. <\/p>\n<p>Kazakhstan&#8217;s official gold reserves are 361 tons. That&#8217;s 78 percent of its total reserves. <\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s official gold reserves now account for 9 percent of its total reserves, or about 2,331 tons.
