Everest Bank, one of Nepal’s leading commercial banks, has successfully migrated its entire card portfolio to start card transactions through EFT Card Switch operated by Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL). With this significant achievement, the entire issuing, equiting, processing and routing of Visa Card transactions will now be done through NCHL’s EFT Card Switch. <\/p>\n
Further, the bank will now issue and acquire NepalPay card, which will strengthen the bank’s participation in National Card Scheme and increase acceptance of the National Card Scheme across ATMs, POS and merchant digital channels across the nation. The partnership between Nepalpay Card and International Discover Card has further expanded the domestic and international acceptance capacity of the card. <\/p>\n
The successful transition from the old card switch to the EFT switch of NCHL is an important strategic move for the bank. It will also facilitate the bank to conduct carding operations, thereby enhancing operational stability, enhancing efficiency, security and cost optimization. <\/p>\n
Currently, NCHL has been operating EFT card switches and services. With more than 11 banks and financial institutions, EFT Card Switch processes card transactions across various national and international card schemes. In the last fiscal year, NCHL’s EFT Switch processed transactions worth more than Rs 4.28 trillion. <\/p>\n
As the bank has been providing its services through a wide domestic network of 132 branches, 32 revenue collection counters, 4 extension counters and 167 ATM terminals, the bank has contributed to the development of the financial sector of Nepal.
