Kathmandu. With the aim of transforming Lumbini Province into a strong, safe and prosperous Regional Information Technology Center (IT Hub), the Digital Lumbini Multi-Stakeholder Consultative Program has been successfully concluded at Lumbini City College in Shankarnagar, Tilottama Municipality. The program was organized by CAN Federation Lumbini Province and Rupandehi Chapter in collaboration with CSIT Association of Nepal, Rupandehi Chapter. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, eminent personalities from the IT sector, academicians, industrialists and youth stakeholders expressed solidarity to implement the policy mandate of the provincial government for the fiscal year 2083\/84. <\/p>\n
IT Leader Chiranjeevi Adhikari’s Digital Lumbini Concept<\/strong><\/p>\n }<\/p>\n The main attraction of the program was the concept paper titled “Digital Lumbini” prepared by Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation and a leader in the information technology sector. The master plan has adopted a two-engine strategy to connect Kathmandu-Butwal Digital Corridor and Butwal-Dang-Nepalgunj Link. It has identified artificial intelligence, paperless governance, digital health, smart education, and automated transportation as key pillars. <\/p>\n Solidarity of the College and CAN Federation<\/strong><\/p>\n Acting Campus Chief of Lumbini City College, Narayan Prasad Bhusal said that the Digital Lumbini concept developed by IT Leader Chiranjibi Adhikari would prove to be a milestone for the development of the region. He said that the college fully appreciated and welcomed this visionary plan. <\/p>\n Presiding over the program, CAN Federation Lumbini Province President Narayan Khanal said that such innovative initiative was a proud moment for CAN Federation. Khanal expressed the determination that CAN Federation was committed to fully implement this concept at the province level. <\/p>\n Youth Empowerment, National Software and End of Brain Drain<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking at the consultation meeting, CSIT Association Rupandehi President Kalpit Nepal stressed on the need for funding of IT projects and skill development at the local level. He also demanded that industry-friendly curriculum should be designed in universities and colleges. Likewise, President of CAN Federation, Rupandehi chapter, Jeevan Adhikari, stressed on youth empowerment and overall national development through the means of information technology. <\/p>\n Dhan Bahadur Rana, founder president of Lumbini Tech Innovation Center, put forward a concrete plan to stop the exodus of youths. “We need to bridge the policy gaps by bringing in progressive startup laws,” he said.
