Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) is preparing to develop a software to provide the share ownership details of the insurer’s shareholders through electronic means to be demanded from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and other related issues. <\/p>\n
The CIA, Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DoP), Nepal Police’s Special Investigation Bureau and NEA have been seeking details of promoters and other shareholders in connection with the investigation of various cases. <\/p>\n
The insurer had been asking for such details from the concerned securities manager and company registrar and providing them to the concerned authorities. When such details are requested, the Special Investigation Bureau of Police directly corresponds with the insurer and other agencies through the Authority. The insurer should also provide the same details to different investigative agencies. <\/p>\n
According to the authority, the new software and portal will allow the correspondent to provide share details to the insurer through a one-door system.
