Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Mohan Kumar Dangi has assumed office as the newly elected president of Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN). Immediate past president of IPPAN Ganesh Karki welcomed Dangi to his office. <\/p>\n
Talking briefly to media persons after assuming the office, Chairman Dangi expressed the belief that the entire energy sector was moving ahead as one after the general assembly unanimously elected the leadership. “Whatever happened during the election is over. Now we will work together. It is both an opportunity and a challenge to have everyone in one place”, he said, adding, “We will work by allocating the work by giving full authority to all the colleagues in the working committee.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Dangi, who had served in the previous three working committees, has become the chairman in his fourth term. <\/p>\n
Immediate past president of IPPAN Ganesh Karki said that he should always pay attention to his speech no matter what post he holds after joining IPPAN. “The chairman should take responsibility even when the members of the working committee speak. Therefore, when speaking outside, you should speak only after consultation. If we don’t have complete information about something, we should be able to say that we will talk about it later,” Karki said, adding, “If there is no awareness in the speech, the entire sector with an investment of Rs 15 trillion will have to pay the price.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Outgoing president Karki said that it was a great success to include the issues raised by his working committee in the manifesto of most of the political parties and the next working committee should keep pushing for its implementation. <\/p>\n
Newly elected Senior Vice President of IPPAN Uttam Bhlon said that although the position of yesterday and today has changed, they will be together on the issues of energy sector as in the past. “The outgoing president has a legacy of his own. “I wonder if this working committee will not be able to carry on that legacy,” he said, “So, even if the seats change, we are confident that we will always be together for the greater interest of the energy sector.” \u2019<\/p>\n
The new leadership of IPPAN, which has 700 power producers as members, was elected on June 12. The new working committee that took the oath of office on June 14 has assumed office from Wednesday, June 17.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
