Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Manish Kumar Mishra has announced to provide additional support to the ‘Loktantrik Martyrs Descendants Fund’ to be established for the families of martyrs. On the occasion of his birthday, he announced that he will contribute another Rs 50,000 to the fund. <\/p>\n
Earlier, Mishra had announced the establishment of the fund on his birthday on June 12, 2082 BS and had said that he would deposit Rs 51,000 initially. Continuing the same commitment, the total amount of the fund has reached Rs 101,000 after adding additional funds this year, he said. <\/p>\n
According to him, the concept of establishing the fund has been put forward with the objective of honouring the martyrs and supporting their families. He said although the implementation of the plan was delayed in the past due to unfavourable political situation, preparations are underway to materialize it now. <\/p>\n
Mishra said that he felt the need to do something to help the martyr families after seeing the condition of the martyr’s families from close quarters during his visit to various places in the Madhes region. He clarified that the decision to establish the fund was made on the basis of this experience. <\/p>\n
Mishra also said that he plans to form a board of directors for the operation of the fund soon after completing the legal process. According to him, the committee will be formed by people who have respect for martyrs and the fund will be run collectively rather than individually. <\/p>\n
Arrangements would be made for all interested people to contribute to the fund and the scope of the fund would be expanded from Mechi to Mahakali, he added. <\/p>\n
In the end, he described this initiative as a small effort of social work and expects suggestions, advice and support from people from different walks of life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
