KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced a relief package for students going abroad for higher studies. <\/p>\n<p>The central bank has amended the Integrated Circular-2082 to provide relief to the students going abroad for higher studies. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has further eased the bank balance required for foreign study purposes. The central bank has allowed foreign colleges to keep 5 percent more foreign currency than the prescribed amount. <\/p>\n<p>Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has further relaxed the foreign exchange facility for study in countries other than India. As per the agreement, the embassy or government agency of the concerned country can keep 5 percent more foreign currency in the name of the student&#8217;s account if the embassy of the concerned country asks for the renewal of the visa of the student going to study abroad or for the subsistence expenses. <\/p>\n<p>The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has made arrangements to provide exchange of the required amount on the basis of documents that prove that certain amount has to be shown in the local currency which is not in the list of convertible foreign currencies. In case the additional cost incurred due to exchange rate fluctuations cannot be ascertained, the remittance may be increased up to 5 percent and the remittance may be added to the US dollar or other convertible foreign currency. <\/p>\n<p>Students will receive exchange facility ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 as subsistence expenses. Parents can send such amount to the students from Nepal. <\/p>\n<p>Apart from this, the Rastra Bank has made arrangements to give permission on the basis of verifying documents in the case of other fees. Although it is mentioned that the documents to be submitted should be original, the documents that have been certified through digital signature by completing the procedures mentioned in the Electronic Transaction Act, 2063 or the rules framed under the said Act should also be recognized.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
