Kathmandu. Nepal’s leading payment service provider eSewa organized “eSewa Hackathon 2026” in Sauraha. The residential hackathon, which started on May 29, 2020, concluded with new technologies, innovations, creative thinking, and digital solutions related to environmental sustainability. <\/p>\n
The hackathon was organized in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal, an organization working in the field of wildlife and environment conservation. <\/p>\n
A total of 63 young talents from 20 teams selected from across the nation competed in the hackathon, which was organized to promote a culture of innovation, seek digital solutions and promote youth entrepreneurship in Nepal. Competing teams presented innovative digital solutions and prototypes related to fintech, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and environmental sustainability. <\/p>\n
The top three teams were selected based on an evaluation by the jury of the hackathon. The team ‘Confusion Matrix’ comprising Aditya Kumar Sah Teli and Pooja Yadav won the first position. <\/p>\n
The team of Abhinandan Rajbhandari, Erbin Shrestha, Utsav Dahal and Sabin Neupane became the second runner-up, while the team comprising Indra Prasad Sapkota, Samip Ghimire, Saugat Adhikari and Sneha Chhetri finished third. The first, second and third prize winners were awarded with Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakhs and Rs 1 lakhs respectively. <\/p>\n
Addressing the closing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of eSewa Jagdish Khadka praised the participants of the hackathon for their enthusiasm and solutions. <\/p>\n
He also said that the solutions presented in the hackathon will be utilized to the maximum in the coming days. “We believe the creative and innovative solutions presented by the young people here can be harnessed in the future to make a significant contribution to the digital economy and environmental protection.” “The innovative digital solutions, energy, and creativity of innovative talents will determine the future of a secure and robust fintech ecosystem. \u201d<\/p>\n
