Kathmandu. The meeting of the Council of Ministers is taking place today. The meeting will begin at 3:30 pm at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. <\/p>\n
The meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Balen Shah is likely to take some important decisions. According to sources, the same meeting may also decide on the appointment of the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). <\/p>\n
The government has already shortlisted the names of four out of 47 candidates for the appointment of the chairman. The shortlisted candidates have already held discussions with the committee’s office-bearers at the Ministry of Finance. <\/p>\n
According to sources, the Ministry of Finance has also recommended the names of 3 candidates recommended by the committee to the cabinet. One of the three candidates will be appointed as the chairman of Sebon by a cabinet meeting. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the committee had shortlisted former executive director of Sebon Bank, Nawaraj Adhikari and executive director Binay Dev Acharya, and former executive directors of Nepal Rastra Bank, Mukunda Bahadur Chhetri and Gopal Prasad Bhatta. <\/p>\n
The post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has been lying vacant since the resignation of Santosh Narayan Shrestha on April 4.
