Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has shortlisted 4 candidates for the post. <\/p>\n
The recommendation committee for the selection of the chairman has shortlisted the names of 4 candidates who have filed candidacy for the post of chairman of the Securities Board. Those on the shortlist are Dr Nawaraj Adhikari, Binay Dev Acharya, Mukunda Kumar Chhetri and Dr Gopal Prasad Bhatta. Adhikari is the former executive director of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) while Acharya is the incumbent executive director. Bhatta is a former executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank. <\/p>\n
Issuing a notice on April 29, the recommendation committee had called on the candidates to submit their applications with personal details for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal within seven days. As many as 47 people had submitted their personal details on the deadline. <\/p>\n
Out of these candidates, the recommendation committee has shortlisted the names of 4 candidates. Now, the recommendation committee has called the shortlisted candidates to the Ministry of Finance on May 24 for discussion. <\/p>\n
Now, after this discussion, the recommendation committee will recommend the names of 3 candidates to the Ministry of Finance. After this, the Ministry of Finance will recommend the name of one of these candidates to the Cabinet. The Cabinet will appoint one of them as the Chairman of the Securities Board. <\/p>\n
The post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has been lying vacant since the resignation of Santosh Narayan Shrestha on April 4.
