Kathmandu. Chairperson of the Insurance Authority of Nepal Chandra Kala Poudel has said that the Insurance Authority will move forward in a new way in the coming days. <\/p>\n
Addressing a program organized to mark the 58th anniversary of the Insurance Authority at its central office, Chairman Poudel said policy-level and institutional partnership with the insured and other bodies and institutions had played an important role in the development of insurance sector. “Policy reforms related to insurance, protection of interest of the insured, timely claim payment and quality service delivery should be prioritized for the development and expansion of insurance sector,” she said. <\/p>\n
Chairman Poudel said that the authority would prioritize protection of interest of insured, institutional strengthening of insured, risk-based inspection, promotion of good governance and digital transformation by filling the shortcomings at the policy level in the coming days. <\/p>\n
Managing Director of NEA Sushil Dev Subedi said that NEA is committed to make insurance sector more inclusive, digital, risk conscious and a partner of economic development. Stating that the authority has made its regulation and inspection works more effective to strengthen good governance and discipline in insurance sector, he said that the authority has made a stride this year in the areas of internal governance, institutional strengthening and capacity building. <\/p>\n
President of Nepal Insurance Association Birendra Bahadur Baidwar Chhetri, Vice President of Nepal Life Insurance Association Prakash Bikram Khatri, President of Nepal Micro Insurance Association Chirayu Bhandari, President of Nepal Insurance Surveyor Association Rishi Koirala, President of Nepal Professional Insurance Agents Association Om Bahadur KC and Vice President of Nepal Insurance Brokers Association Naresh Shrestha extended their best wishes for the success of the program. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Chairman Poudel and member of NEA’s Board of Directors Man Bahadur Aryal felicitated employees completing 20 years of service in NEA. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, President Poudel, Board of Directors member Aryal and Executive Director Subedi jointly distributed medals and certificates to the winners of various sports competitions. <\/p>\n
The program was attended by members of the Board of Directors of NEA, Chief Executive Officers of Insurance Companies, Micro Insurance Companies, Reinsurance Companies, Nepal Insurance Association, Life Insurance Association, Nepal Micro Insurance Association, Nepal Insurance Surveyor Association, Nepal Professional Insurance Agents Association, Nepal Insurance Brokers Association, and employees and former employees of NEA.
