Kathmandu. The Office of the Auditor General has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of health insurance. <\/p>\n
The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General submitted the fiscal year 2081 to President Ram Chandra Poudel today. The 63rd annual report of ’82 has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of health insurance. The report states that the health insurance board is temporary in nature and has not been adequately managed for resources and human resources. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the report also pointed out that with the increasing claims of the insured, it was challenging to complete the test work flawlessly and within the time, the contribution of the premium in the claim payment was low, the claims made by the service providing institutions were not fully paid on time and all the insured were not able to get medicines adequately. <\/p>\n
The report also pointed out duplication in the insurance program, increasing rejection rate of claims, failure to expand the coverage of insurance to all age groups, failure to enroll all employees of civil servants and establishments in insurance and imbalance in participation in insurance at the province level. <\/p>\n
According to the report, only 30 per cent of the families and 20.5 per cent of the insured population are actively involved in the health insurance programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
