The central government of India has made a big announcement on Wednesday. The government has banned the export of sugar with immediate effect. <\/p>\n<p>Exports of raw, white and processed sugar will be banned until September 2026. This ban can be extended further. This decision has been taken to control the price of sugar in India. <\/p>\n<p>India is the second largest producer of sugar in the world. In a notification issued on Wednesday, the government announced a ban on the export of sugar with immediate effect till September 30 or until further notice. <\/p>\n<p>India is the world&#8217;s largest exporter of sugar after Brazil. India had allowed mills to export 15 lakh metric tonnes of sugar, anticipating that it would exceed domestic demand.
