Crude oil traded in the US rose 2.3 percent to $97. <\/p>\n<p>The US and Iran have exchanged fire on Hormuz. The US military has since said it would retaliate to prevent an &#8220;unprecedented&#8221; attack by Iran. <\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump said that the 3 American ships that were attacked were destroyers. As a result, Hormuz was undamaged. Several Iranian small boats were completely destroyed in the retaliatory attack and missiles aimed at American ships were easily dropped. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Iran&#8217;s military has accused the US of violating the ceasefire. <\/p>\n<p>Iran and the United States have been in a ceasefire for the past few weeks.
