KATHMANDU: Gunakar Bhatta has resigned from the recommendation committee formed to appoint the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). <\/p>\n<p>The government had formed a recommendation committee under the convenorship of Bhatta to appoint the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal. Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya and former banker Bhuwan Kumar Dahal are the members of the committee. <\/p>\n<p>Bhatta was known as an impartial person when he was the executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank. However, Bhatt was forced to resign after an application for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of India appeared to tarnish his impartial working style. <\/p>\n<p>The single government of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) is currently working to bring the country&#8217;s anomalies to normal. Bhatta, who could not be appointed as the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank due to political interests, was honored by the RSP government by giving him the responsibility of the vice-chairman of the National Planning and Planning. <\/p>\n<p>However, after the resignation of Santosh Narayan Shrestha, the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal, the government had invited applications for new appointments. Gunakar Bhatta resigned from the post of former executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) after his cousin and elder brother Gunakar Bhatta applied for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). According to sources, Bhatta resigned due to conflict of interest. <\/p>\n<p>The process of appointing the chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) is likely to be delayed for a few days. A total of 47 candidates have filed applications for the post of president.
