Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Chairman Hemanta Basyal has resigned from his post on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Basyal submitted his resignation letter to the Ministry of Finance today. &#8220;Basyal has not publicly disclosed the reason behind his resignation,&#8221; a NEPSE official said, &#8220;However, Basyal has left NEPSE after resigning from the Finance Ministry.&#8221; \u2019<\/p>\n<p>The then government had appointed Basyal as the chairman of NEPSE on September 5, 2002. Prior to that, he was the CEO of NRN Infrastructure and Development Company. <\/p>\n<p>Santosh Narayan Shrestha has resigned from the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on April 18. With the resignation of Basyal and Shrestha, both the stock market regulator SEBON and NEPSE have been left without leadership. <\/p>\n<p>The government has already initiated the process to appoint the Sebon chairman. The government has formed a three-member recommendation committee under the coordination of National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice-Chairman Gunakar Bhatta to appoint a new chairman to the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyay and former banker Bhuwan Kumar Dahal are the members of the committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
