Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Ltd. has launched a new facility to accept QR code payments from UnionPay Wallet users through its FonePay QR merchant network. <\/p>\n
This type of service has been implemented through FonePay in collaboration with UnionPay International. With the launch of this service, UnionPay digital users can easily scan the QR of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank QR merchants across Nepal and make payments. Especially, tourists coming to Nepal from different countries including China will benefit from this facility and reduce the need to carry cash while traveling. <\/p>\n
UnionPay, founded in 2002, is one of the world’s largest payment providers, with more than 9.6 billion cards issued and accepted in over 180 countries and territories. With the launch of this service, the QR infrastructure currently being provided in Nepal will be more effective. The bank is committed to making digital innovation more secure, effective and inclusive. <\/p>\n
In line with the bank’s plan to celebrate the year 2083 as Digital Promotion Year, the bank has announced a facility to all active mobile banking users of the bank through the mobile app “Mahalaxmi Smart Saathi” to get attractive travel packages for up to 3 users through lottery every time they have completed at least one successful transaction in the first week of Baisakh through its mobile banking platform. <\/p>\n
The bank has 103 branches and more than 850,000 customers all over the country. <\/p>\n
