Kathmandu. Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited and NCHL have signed an agreement to enable the payment of NepalPay card through EFT Card Switch. Mr. Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, Chief Executive Officer of NCHL and Mr. Madhav Subedi, Chief Digital Banking Officer, Machhapuchchhre Bank signed and exchanged the MOU amidst a program. <\/p>\n
As per the agreement, Machhapuchchhre Bank will be able to issue NepalPay Cards to its customers and process and process NepalPay card transactions through international cards and RuPay cards of Discover network. In the first phase, the bank will enable acquiring of NepalPay Card through its 199 ATMs and more than 3000 POS terminals. <\/p>\n
NCHL has recently started the commercial rollout of the NepalPay Card and will be able to use the NepalPay Card globally through its international partner Discover Network. With the launch of National Payment Switch, NepalPay cards issued by the banks and financial institutions, payment service providers and payment system operators can be used at ATMs and POS terminals in Nepal and abroad. International Discover Cards and Discover Partner Cards can also be used in Nepal. <\/p>\n
Currently, 10 member BFIs are processing various international card schemes through NCHL’s EFT services. With the recent integration between EFT and National Payment Switch, the NepalPay Card can also be processed. Other EFT member banks and financial institutions are also preparing to acquire and issue NepalPay cards. So far, more than 34 banks and financial institutions have joined NepalPay and are in various stages of rollout. The NepalPay card has been implemented and currently 2 commercial banks have started issuing cards and 3 commercial banks are also acquiring and this is expected to increase in the coming days. <\/p>\n
