Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has organized a discussion and interaction program with local levels on insurance promotion in Bhojpur municipality. <\/p>\n
The chief guest of the program, Mayor of Bhojpur Municipality, Kailash Kumar Ale, expressed his commitment to advance agriculture and livestock insurance and home insurance in a planned manner. He expressed the belief that the practice of insurance sector would gain a stronger base, urging all not to buy insurance beyond its capacity. <\/p>\n
Mayor Ale said insurance was inevitable to ensure financial security through risk transfer, saying the relief provided by the local government was not enough to deal with disaster. <\/p>\n
Chief of Nepal Insurance Authority, Preeti Dev, stressed the need of linking the insurance with the services of the municipality. He said that financial security would be ensured by transferring the risk of house and other property to the insurance company. <\/p>\n
He suggested the government to prioritise accident insurance, agriculture and livestock insurance as it was not possible to predict when the incident would occur. He also urged the insurance companies to take insurance only from licensed insurance companies to avoid financial loss. <\/p>\n
Assistant Director of Insurance Authority of Nepal Sachin Rai gave a presentation on the issues related to insurance. <\/p>\n
The interaction was attended by people’s representatives, employees of Bhojpur Municipality and representatives of various insurance companies. The program was chaired by Preeti Dev, chief of Nepal Insurance Authority’s Karnali Province Office. Deputy Mayor Nirmala Sherpa graced the occasion as a special guest.
