The Naresh Lal Group, the vice-presidential candidate of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in the upcoming elections, has concluded pre-budget discussions. The group has organized the pre-budget discussion between the government and the private sector in a bid to address the problems and demands of industrialists and entrepreneurs through the upcoming budget. <\/p>\n
More than 80 presidents from commodity associations and federations participated in the meeting held at Himalaya Hotel in Lalitpur. Most of the stakeholders who spoke at the program said that there are still many problems of entrepreneurs and it should be addressed in the upcoming budget. “The way Naresh Lal Shrestha, the candidate for the post of vice-president, has organized this pre-budget discussion program to address the grievances of the commodity chairmen, it is very commendable,” said the objective chairpersons, who spoke at the program, “The Nareshlal group needs to win the election as there are candidates who understand the problems of the businessmen and can address the demands of the businessmen by lobbying with the government.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Most of the associations that spoke at the program said that the government has not addressed their demands and that the government has formed a two-thirds majority and it will address it. Candidate for the post of vice-chairperson, Naresh Lal Shrestha said the entrepreneurs are on the verge of migrating due to various reasons and the government should bring the budget addressing their problems. “The entrepreneurs are in a lot of trouble after the coronavirus pandemic and the Genji movement has also demoralized the industrialists and entrepreneurs,” he said, adding, “There is no alternative to the government to resolve the problems of the entrepreneurs and boost their morale.” \u2019<\/p>\n
He said that he was still working for the rights of entrepreneurs and would work with the government for policy initiatives in the coming days as well. “I have always been advocating for discussions with the government and stakeholders to resolve the problems of objective associations,” he said, adding, “We have organized pre-budget discussions to address the problems of objective organizations through the budget. \u2019<\/p>\n
Similarly, Hemraj Dhakal, a candidate for the post of senior vice-president and objective vice-president of FNCCI, said that he had worked for the welfare of industrialists and entrepreneurs by lobbying with the government on behalf of FNCCI during his tenure. “Earlier, the government was going to bring rules to enter the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in the private sector,” he said, adding, “We have been successful in making more than 20 laws friendly by amending more than 20 laws in the current tenure.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Accordingly, he said that there is no alternative to electing Nareshlal group to work in the interest of businessmen in the days to come. <\/p>\n
Likewise, Kamala Shrestha, Bhakta Bahadur Hamal, Subodh Kumar Gupta, Lilendra Pradhan, Pashupati Dev Pandey, Hari Bahadur Karki, Rajendra Sangraula, Durga Prasad Subedi, Nirajan Bahadur Chalaune, Sagar Dhakal, Krishna Bhakta Shrestha, Bidur Dhamala, Suraj Banjade and Biplav Adhikari have filed their candidacies for the post of members.
