Kathmandu. KATHMANDU \u2014 Prime Minister Balendra Shah has told the ambassadors and heads of various diplomatic missions in Nepal that his government was keen to further strengthen relations with the friendly countries they represent. <\/p>\n
During a meeting with the team at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Prime Minister Shah said the Government of Nepal attaches high importance to its relations with all countries, believes in it and is committed to strengthening partnership based on mutual benefits. “Nepal has been following a balanced and pragmatic foreign policy. “Our external relations is guided by the goal of shared prosperity,” he said, expressing gratitude to all partners and friends for their continued goodwill and support for Nepal’s development and prosperity. \u2019<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister stressed that peace should be a common priority as the ongoing conflicts in the world would affect the general public the most. “Peace should remain our common priority as the ongoing conflicts affect civilians the most,” he said. I am sure we will all agree on this and look forward to our collective efforts in this direction. I would like to thank all the friends present here for their continued friendship and support from Nepal. \u2019<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said that the Government of Nepal was committed to creating a conducive environment for investment, encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting sustainable development. He also stated that the government aims to make Nepal more firmly integrated into the regional and global economic structure in a way in line with the national interest. “Having a new government does not mean a break from continuity. We are committed to maintaining political stability and keeping the policy direction stable and predictable,” he said. <\/p>\n
The government was willing to work together in various areas including development, trade, investment, climate action and people-to-people relations, he said.
