Kathmandu. The government is preparing for significant reforms in its policy on financial crime. <\/p>\n
According to sources, the issue of implementing a ‘penalty plea system’ that settles cases through monetary penalty instead of strict action has reached the final stage of discussions. As per the proposal, the case against the concerned person or organization will be settled soon after paying a certain amount of fine. <\/p>\n
The Finance Ministry believes that this system, based on international practice, will help resolve long-standing economic issues quickly and will significantly improve government revenue collection. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the policy debate has come to the public level after the internal discussion held within the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) on this issue was leaked. Although there is some dissatisfaction within the party, it has been analysed that it has made the overall policy debate more open and transparent. <\/p>\n
According to economic analysts, such a reform is expected to boost confidence in the financial sector. In particular, there are signs of strengthening investor morale in the stock market, increasing activity in trading and easing liquidity in the market. Policy clarity is expected to create investment-friendly environment. <\/p>\n
However, experts say that strict monitoring and clear standards are needed to make such a system effective. Balanced implementation is believed to help improve business environment while maintaining financial discipline. <\/p>\n
