The Balen Shah-led government has given the responsibility to the chiefs of the bodies concerned to stop the corruption-related activities in the country. Now, if any act of corruption is found, the head of the office will be responsible for the action. <\/p>\n<p>The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today issued a circular to all ministries, commissions and offices. &#8220;The government has requested the government to keep a close watch on the possible incidents of bargaining, corruption and irregularities taking place in the ministries, commissions, offices and subordinate bodies and to write to the bodies concerned as soon as they receive any information related to corruption,&#8221; the circular reads. g. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>It is stated that the main responsibility of the office chiefs shall be to earn public trust by making government offices and employees skilled, professional and moral, to give priority to women, children, people with disabilities, senior citizens and helpless in delivery of public services, to behave civilly with the service seekers and to strictly comply with the code of conduct including the neutrality, transparency and moral and discipline mentioned in the law. Therefore, it has been requested to make arrangements for ensuring good governance in the country by improving the service delivery, development management and regular work operation by the ministries, commissions, offices and subordinate bodies,&#8221; reads the circular. <\/p>\n<p>Likewise, the ministry has also requested the government to furnish important suggestions to the Office of the Council of Ministers to make reforms in policy, legal, institutional, procedural and behavioral aspects for prevention and control of financial irregularities and corruption. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All are aware of the fact that the situation in Nepal is dismal in international reports depicting the state of corruption,&#8221; reads the circular. &#8220;The people&#8217;s movement was spearheaded by Jenji Youth on September 7, 2082 with the main demand of rooting out corruption and maintaining good governance,&#8221; he said, adding that the government formed recently after the conclusion of the House of Representatives election on March 4, 2002 has given top priority to promoting good governance by ending all types of corruption in public bodies.  &#8220;Therefore, it is imperative for all bodies concerned to take necessary initiatives to maintain good governance and good governance at the level experienced by the citizens by ending the corruption taking place in service delivery, development works, revenue administration, contract and procurement process by the ministry, commission, office and its subordinate bodies,&#8221; the circular reads. \u2019<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
