Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The single government of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) has scrapped the syndicate for health check-up of workers going for foreign employment. <\/p>\n
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security clarified that arrangements have been made for foreign employment from now onward, workers going for foreign employment can get health check-up done from health institutions approved by the Government of Nepal or under the ownership of the government. With this, the syndicate of health check-up in some health institutions has ended. <\/p>\n
Clause 72 (1) of the Foreign Employment Act, 2064 BS states that a worker going for foreign employment should undergo health check-up from a health institution approved by the Government of Nepal before going abroad. Rule 45A of the Foreign Employment Regulations, 2064. Sub-rule (9) states that the provision of this Rule shall not be deemed to have the government get the health check-up of the workers going for foreign employment through the health institutions owned by the Government of Nepal. <\/p>\n
For a long time, health check-ups have been carried out through limited health facilities for the workers going abroad for employment. However, the RSP government has ended this syndicate and has started the process of allowing more government and approved hospitals for health check-up of workers. According to the Ministry, interested health institutions can now be enlisted after fulfilling the necessary criteria. According to the work procedure related to listing, renewal and monitoring of health institutions, new health institutions will also be listed after completing the due process. <\/p>\n
