A discussion and interaction program focused on the policy, challenges and ways to resolve the insurance policy in the transportation sector of Koshi Province was held in Biratnagar. The program was organized by Nepal Insurance Authority&#8217;s Koshi Province Office. <\/p>\n<p>The program discussed in detail the insurance policies being implemented in the transport sector, the existing problems, the state of motor insurance and the implementation of compulsory third party motor insurance. During the meeting, the stakeholders exchanged views on the complexities seen in the insurance claim process and the ways to resolve them. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Sachin Rai. <\/p>\n<p>During the discussion, it was pointed out the need to further strengthen coordination among the Insurance Authority, provincial government, police, traffic police, Transport Management Office and insurance companies. The participants said that although the provision of not renewing the bill book of the vehicle without insurance is positive, there is a problem of delay in the claim process even after completing all the documents. This, they said, undermines trust in the insurance system. <\/p>\n<p>Netra Lal Thapa of Koshi Bus Entrepreneurs&#8217; Association said that only a few insurance companies are providing &#8216;no claim discount&#8217; and they will not get such facility after transferring the vehicles. He also said that the insurance claim process is complicated and if the original bill is lost during treatment in the hospital, the claim will not be received even after submitting the certified documents. <\/p>\n<p>Likewise, effective monitoring and investigation was necessary to stop the practice of fake and fake insurance. President of Tanker Entrepreneurs&#8217; Association also informed about the problems seen in the insurance claim process and sought help from the NRA to resolve the issue. <\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, Transport Management Service Office Biratnagar Chief Gopal Dahal pledged to provide necessary facilitation to resolve the problems seen in the transport sector. He urged all transport entrepreneurs and service seekers to participate in the insurance process to minimize the financial loss. <\/p>\n<p>Responding to the queries raised during the program, Preeti Dev, chief of Nepal Insurance Authority&#8217;s Koshi Province Office, said that the office would take necessary initiatives to resolve the problems seen in the transport sector.
