Kathmandu. The House of Representatives has 275 members. Of these, 165 are elected under the first-past-the-post category and 110 under the proportional representation system. <\/p>\n
To get a two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives, it needs 184 seats. According to the election results, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is close to two-thirds majority. <\/p>\n
The RSP has won 106 seats and is leading in 19 constituencies. In this way, the RSP is likely to win 125 seats in the FPTP category. <\/p>\n
Under the proportional representation category, the RSP has secured 13,88,421 votes. That’s more than 50 percent of the total votes so far. <\/p>\n
According to the PR system, the RSP is expected to get around 61 seats. In this way, the total number of lawmakers of the RSP is likely to reach 186 if it gets 125 seats from the FPTP and 61 seats from the proportional representation system. That’s a little more than two-thirds. <\/p>\n
