Lately, the cases of digital fraud in the name of KYC update have increased in Nepal. <\/p>\n<p>Currently, the cases of digital fraud by misusing the name and logo of banks and financial institutions by sending links through phone, SMS or social networks on the pretext of updating KYC details are on the rise. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a public awareness notice today to avoid these frauds. <\/p>\n<p>The notice suggests some ways to avoid such frauds. Here are the suggestions: <\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Remember <\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Banks and financial institutions never send a link for KYC update. <\/li>\n<p>Banks and financial institutions never ask for confidential details such as OTP, PIN, password.TAG_OPEN_li_31 <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>What if you receive such messages? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not click unfamiliar or suspicious links. <\/li>\n<li> Do not immediately trust the information received by phone or message. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>What to do to stay safe? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<p>TAG_OPEN_li_28 Please obtain KYC information only from the official website or branch of the bank. <\/li>\n<\/p>\n<li>If in doubt, contact your bank or financial institution directly. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has also advised citizens to adopt safe digital banking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
